As AutoNation builds new facilities, we strive to reduce our environmental impact by taking careful measures:

- Utilizing locally sourced materials
- Installing waterless plumbing fixtures and low-flow faucets
- Improving our air quality
- Providing alternate energy sources.

More of our buildings are LEED certified coast to coast, and our corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is a LEED Gold Certified building.
Recycling
Recycling is essential to AutoNation. That's why it's one of the pillars of our sustainability efforts. Water, oil, tire rubber, scrap metal, paper, paper plastic, car batteries, and radiator cores are recycled to reduce our environmental impact. In addition, a core part of our business is the refurbishment and subsequent retail sale of used vehicles to extend their useful life significantly.
